China May - June 2008
Jing Shan Park Beijing
Roof tops of the Forbidden City
Return of the Yellow Emperor
First they were there .................... ...............then they were gone ,,,,,
Summer Palace Beijing
Mark, Lone and I spent the whole day at the Summer Palace and at Sunset I sat by a Lake meditating.
The Earth seemed to be moving beneath me, a soft liquid feeling. Nice meditation I thought.
Later back at the Hotel I saw the news on television and realised the movement I felt was the aftershock of the major Earthquake
that took place in Chengdu where we were supposed to be flying to 5 days later
Tan Tien Park
A fabulous Park beloved by the Beijingians who gather in droves to play and practice early morning before the tourist arrive to visit teh temple of Heaven
Early morning Primordial Chi Kung
Elderly Children's Playground
The biggest crowds were for Ballroom Dancing rather than Tai Chi, although this Dance seems fairly martial
White Cloud Taoist Temple Beijing
The Great Wall of China
More primordial with thunder and enlightening accompanyment
Tai Shan, Holy Mountain of the East
We set out early to climb the mountain. many steps, many temples, many pilgrims, many blisters.
It was a long hot climb, my feet and thighs complained for a week.
Near the top we were rewarded with beautiful pink blossom.
We spent the night at a Hotel at the top.
Sunrise was cold, wet and grey, but surprisingly pleasant.
Primordial Chi Kung
Seven Step Star Chi Kung
The descent was as challenging as the ascent. Easier on the Lungs but testing for the knees and feet.
Preparing to leave Taishan. We say goodbye to Master Lam.
We were due to leave Tai Shan for Chengdu but the Earth Quake had damaged one of the Monastries we were going to stay at
and the Army had taken all the flights so Michael made alternative arrangements.
We set off for QuingDao a seaside resort that was the venue for Olympic Yachting
Enroute we stopped at a Kite Factory
Early morning Chi Kung on the Beach at Qingdow
My favourite statue of Lao Tsu
meditating on the coach
